Today is the day before the day before I get to email someone for days about some number that I put on some form that goes somewhere that means I get to wait on some paper to get dropped off and picked up so I can wait on something that gets me some kind of approval so I can wait for another kind of approval that means I get to bring my girl HOME!!!
That sounds so weird....after all this time, all the paperwork, all the struggle (Yes - it's REAL people! lol), she will be HOME! In my arms! Like I will have to make her dinner and mold her into a functional person in society who doesn't steal, kill, or go in the "speedy lane" at Kroger with 22 items AND put her to bed and eeeeek!! Home - HOME! What a great day that will be!
Here is the actual "timeline" in an easy form....at least it looks easy....but most days I don't feel like a cute little stick girl with a cute little polka dot dress prancing from box to box....
I am ALMOST to step ten! (You know the day after the day after??? Yeah, that's step ten!!!)
That's PRETTY EXCITING when you think each step takes a couple months...eeerrrrr.... six-er or eight....but now I'm at 10!!! ANNNNNND- steps ten thru fourteen should only take about 5-6 weeks!
YEP! That's right....I should leave in March!
I am PRAYING that I leave March 4th (doesn't that sound like a GREAT day to go to CHINA??) and have a Family Day / Gotcha Day of March 9th!
*DISCLAIMER* this isn't the date they gave me...that doesn't happen until step 13-14...

Yep. Officially, on the books, praying for a date to leave to go get my baby and reunite her with her family....
Here are the reasons I would like to have a Gotcha Day of March 9th:
1-It is the first reasonable date that I could have my paperwork done & be approved to go.
2-I am sooooo ready to hold my girl.
3-I will leave at the first possible date to get her, and that seems like the first date I could go.
4-I am ready ready to get her. That was not a typo....In the Rase family, when you are REALLY ready, you say, "ready ready." As in REALLY REALLY READY. I am "READY READY!"
5- I could keep listing reasons, both personal and scientific, but I think you get the idea.....
If we leave on March 9th....we will be HOME by her 1st Birthday!
She will be a citizen of the United States before she turns one....
and with her FAMILY before she turns one....
That makes me SMILE!!!
Aaron says "don't pick a date!" You will just end up disappointed...you don't KNOW that's when we are going to leave, and you will be crushed if we end up leaving a week (or two- GASP!) later.
He is soooo right. I will be crushed if all the Consulate appointments are taken and our travel is pushed back. Like I will cry.....a lot. And need chocolate. And a diet coke. AND at least two episodes of Little House on the Prairie all by myself with a snuggly blanket....and I STILL might not be over it. Because my girl is waiting on me!!
But here is my glass.....
And here is something I just think is funny! Those who know me, know I am guy #3! (and pray for Aaron every day).....
